The Romania Gateway Portal offers an institutional framework for communication and information exchange between Public Administration, Business Sector, Civil Society and citizens on areas related to development processes at local, national and international levels. RoDG is an advanced technological platform to integrate the resources offered by diverse actors through a descentralised information management system.

The AIDA Database
The integrated information source on development projects under way in Romania and financed by institutions as: Romanian Government, EU, the World Bank, USAID, EBRD, and other donors active in the country. In implementing this database on the portal, Romania Development Gateway will start from the structure and information in AIDA (Accessible Information on Development Activities) hosted on Development Gateway. The interface will be adapted to the needs of local users presenting only locally relevant information.

Online eProcurement platform
The online procurement platform implemented in Romania by eRG uses the classification system Common Procurement Vocabulary - CPV, wich includes around 8300 categories of products and services. The eProcurement systems includes at present all the tender and bidding notices for projects financed by European Union and the Worlf Bank and European Union for products and services procurement that involves a certain financial level. During the initial phase, the eprocurement platform on eRG will allow users to be well informed regarding the procurement opportunities in the public and private sector.

Virtual Communities
Virtual Communities are online groups dedicated to areas of interest, in which users can post or download documents, can register for receiving information, or participate in discussion Forums. Communities focus on development proirity areas on the national level: euro-atlantic integration, anticorruption measures, rural development, public administration, knowledge economy, e.g.; or gathers persons/institutions with common professional preoccupations.

The Communities are developed through partnerships with relevant institutions from the specific field (Associate Editors). The Associate Editors hold both the rights and responsibilities for the content and development of each community, RoDG being just a facilitator and a promoter.

General information
The Gateway provides users with a wide range of information on Romania: socio-economic trends, statistics, news from various fields. The primary users of the information are those, inside and outside the country, being engaged in development-related work, including government officials, NGO and community leaders, development professionals and researchers, journalists, and business people. The information is also intended to general audiences like students and librarians.
