CONSTITUTIVE ASSEMBLY of the JIU VALLEY Association

December 2, 2003. At the ‘Teodora Lucaciu’ Marble Hall of Petrosani Town Hall took place the CONSTITUTIVE ASSEMBLY of the Jiu Valley Association.
The meeting was attended by 46 of the 64 founder members of the Jiu Valley Association.
The agenda of the Constitutive Assembly of the Jiu Valley Association had seven items as follows:
- Approval of the Association’s Status;
- Approval of the Board of Directors' members;
- Election of the Association’s president;
- Election of censors;
- Delegation of the Board of Directors to draw up the Association’s Budget for 2003;
- Establishing the General Assembly’s date around the second half of January 2003 in order to have the Association’s Budget approved;
- Other.
Mr. Aurel Rizescu subjected to the attention of the attendants several minor items to be changed in the Association's Status. These changes were approved by the vote of the presents founder members.
The approval of the Board of Directors' members, as well as the approval of the Association’s Status and Constitutive Document was done with the vote of all the founder members present (46 votes).
Mr Nicoale Ilias, dean of the Petrosani University proposed that Mr. Octavian Costescu should become president of the Jiu Valley Association. The proposal was subjected to open vote and Mr. Costescu was elected president of the Jiu Valley Association with the vote of all the founder members present (46 votes). The president of the Jiu Valley Association is elected for a four years period.
The three persons nominated for the censor positions are:
- Mr. Ioan Popescu;
- Mr. Constantin Balan:
- Mr. Paul Afumatu.
The Board of Directors was voted to draw up the Association’s Budget for 2003 and it was proposed that the General Assembly for the approval of the budget should take place during the second half of January 2003.
